In the context of the history and political arrangement of Europe in the 20th century, the choir had few opportunities to travel to the British Isles. In fact, only two: one of these rare tours was in 1972, a tour with then-chief choirmaster Josef Veselka through Scotland and Wales.
The second visit took place in 2002 when the male part of the choir traveled to Edinburgh, where they participated in a performance of Wagner’s Parsifal under the direction of the renowned conductor Claudio Abbado.
Now, the entire musical ensemble will perform at the famous Royal Albert Hall with Janáček’s Glagolitic Mass, which the choir has prepared under the direction of its chief choirmaster Lukáš Vasilek.
