The Glagolitic Mass is one of the most powerful spiritual compositions in the history of music. Seventy-two-year-old Leoš Janáček wrote it in 1926 in the spa town of Luhačovice, using Old Church Slavonic text. Under the direction of Semyon Bychkov, it will now be performed in Karlovy Vary as part of the Variations Festival.
