Advent concert by the Prague Philharmonic Orchestra under the patronage of Eva Pavlová

Prague (November 18, 2025) – The Prague Philharmonic Choir is organizing a concert on Saturday 13. 12. 2025 traditional Advent concert, which will take place at 8 p.m. in the Dvořák Hall of the Rudolfinum in Prague. For this occasion, the choir, together with choirmaster and conductor Lukáš Vasilek, will prepare works by two Czech composers. The first part of the festive evening, which will be broadcast live by Czech Television on the ČT art channel, will feature Vánoční (Christmas) by Luboš Fišer, followed in the second half by Vánoční kantáta (Christmas Cantata) by Jan Ryant Dřízal, who wrote this composition two years ago on commission from the choir.

Prague Philharmonic Choir opens 91st season with Pärt, Bernstein and Stravinsky

Prague (September 30, 2025) ー The Prague Philharmonic Choir is organizing the Opening Concert on Tuesday, September 7th 10. 2025 in the Dvořák Hall in the Rudolfinum. For this occasion, under the direction of its chief choirmaster Lukáš Vasilek, it will study vocal works by Arvo Pärt, Leonard Bernstein
and Igor Stravinsky.

The Prague Philharmonic Choir presents its 91st season

Prague (June 11, 2025) ー The Prague Philharmonic Choir is organizing four concerts under its own direction in the 2025/2026 season. The season will open on October 7, 2025 with a concert in the Dvořák Hall of the Rudolfinum, where it will perform vocal compositions by Arvo Pärt, Leonard Bernstein and Igor Stravinsky. On October 13th 12. 2025, the traditional Advent concert will take place in the Rudolfinum, from which a recording will be made. The choir, with its chief choirmaster Lukáš Vasilek, will rehearse for this occasion the compositions Vánoční by Luboš Fišer and the Christmas cantata by Jan Ryant Dřízal. In the second half of the season, the Prague Philharmonic Choir is preparing the concert Goin’ Home | Antonín Dvořák and an American Spiritual, which will take place on 22. 1. 2026 in the Bethlehem Chapel in Prague. The quartet of his own concerts concludes on the 18th. 3. 2026 “French Evening at the Castle” in the Spanish Hall, where works by Francis Poulenc and Arthur Honegger will be performed.

The Prague Philharmonic Choir will perform two concerts in Lucerne, Switzerland.

Prague (May 14, 2025) ー The Prague Philharmonic Choir will perform twice as part of the Dvořák tribute 23. and 24. 5. 2025 in Lucerne, Switzerland. First with his own a cappella program, then he will perform Dvořák’s Requiem with the Lucerne Symphony Orchestra under the direction of Michael Sanderling.

Levels of Silence: The First Immersive Concert of the Prague Philharmonic Choir

Prague (March 12, 2025) ー The Prague Philharmonic Choir is organizing on 26. and on March 27, 2025 from 7:00 PM and 8:30 PM, the immersive concert Levels of Silence. The unconventional event will take place in the premises of the Monastery of St. Agnes of Bohemia in Prague.

The Prague Philharmonic Choir organizes a concert of participants of the Hlasotaj workshop

Prague (March 5, 2025) ー The Hlasotaj workshop, which is intended for the general public, will culminate in a concert on March 15, 2025 from 3:00 PM in the Evangelical Church of U Salvátora in Prague. Under the leadership of choirmaster Lukáš Kozubík, the project participants will perform the repertoire that they will study during individual lessons. The program will also include a performance by the PFS Academy chamber ensemble in honor of Sonia Červená.

The Czech Philharmonic will perform Joan of Arc under the direction of Lukáš Vasilek

Prague (February 6, 2025) – The principal conductor of the Prague Philharmonic Choir will conduct the Czech Philharmonic for the first time. Together they will study the oratorio Joan of Arc on the Border, written by Arthur Honegger to a text by the poet Paul Claudel. The leading role will be played by renowned French actress Audrey Bonnet, who became famous for her role as Joan of Arc on many stages, for example in Lyon or Brussels. The extensive, almost monumental composition, which combines soloists, reciters, a mixed and children’s choir and an orchestra, is rarely performed. Joan of Arc on the Border will be performed in the Dvořák Hall of the Rudolfinum for the first time since 1974 next week – on Thursday and Friday 13. and February 14, always from 7:30 p.m., and on Saturday, February 15, from 3 p.m.

The Prague Philharmonic Choir will fill the Žofín Palace with Christmas songs

Prague (December 12, 2024) ー A pair of pre-Christmas concerts organized by the Prague Philharmonic Choir 19. and December 20, 2024 from 7:30 p.m. in Prague’s Žofín Palace, will present the Christmas Cantata by Czech composer Jan Ryant Dřízal, which was first performed last year, and the small vocal symphony Gloria by French composer Francis Poulenc.

Prague Philharmonic Choir with Pavel Černoch: Treasures of the Czech Choir from Prague to New York

Prague (November 11, 2024) ー A pair of concerts taking place 28. and November 29, 2024, at 7:30 p.m. at the Church of St. Simon and Jude in Prague, entitled Treasures of the Czech Choir. The Prague Philharmonic Choir will present vocal works by Czech composers
A. Dvořák, L. Janáček, B. Martinů, J. Novák, and P. Eben. The same program will then be performed on December 6, 2024, at the Prague Philharmonic Choir’s first ever solo concert at Carnegie Hall in New York. Tenor Pavel Černoch will be the choir’s guest performer on both occasions.

The Prague Philharmonic Choir opens its 90th season with two concerts at the Rudolfinum

Prague (September 23, 2024) ー To kick off its anniversary season, the Prague Philharmonic Choir is organizing two festive musical evenings. On Saturday, September 28, 9. 2024 will be performed at the Opening Concert of Antonín Dvořák’s Requiem. The Dresdner Philharmonie, conducted by Michael Sanderling, has accepted an invitation to perform this rarely performed work. Sunday evening, 29. 9. 2024 will be dedicated to celebrating choral traditions. Three Czech choirs – Česká píseň Plzeň, Severáček, and Bohemiachor – will perform during the concert Proč bychom se netěšili (Why Shouldn’t We Be Happy?).
